AWARE offers white anti-racist education programs for groups and associations that are committed to seeing the realities of racism and taking anti-racist action. We serve community groups, units of government, education institutions, corporations, business associations, and others willing to do the work. Each program provides a forum to explore, without judgement, content that includes:
- The history of race and racism in the United States
- Definitions of key terms in social justice advocacy work
- Foundations of systemic racism
- Tools and strategies for engaging in difficult conversations and situations
- Understanding what it means to be an ally
- The influence and impact of whiteness, race and racism in each of our lives
- Concepts of white privilege and white fragility
- Exploring internalized notions of white supremacy
- Understanding how whiteness has been constructed in our lives
- Serving and supporting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color organizations and communities
- Resources for further engagement and anti-racist actions to move from theory to practice
